The reason it works

Texting just became obsolete.

Your texts arrive from an unknown number carrying a link students have been trained not to click. Pathways replaces that.

A branded, verified, interactive experience that reaches students where they actually are, and turns passive notifications into real, two way journeys that end on Move In Day.

It arrives looking unmistakably like you.

No spammy sender. No mystery number. A branded, verified welcome lands exactly where they already pay attention, and invites them to do something, not just read.

Stage 02 · Inquiry

The one message that never gets lost in the pile.

  • Every message looks and feels like your institution.
  • Every touchpoint is a tap, not a chore.
  • Every student gets their own journey, not a blast.

Applications, scholarship calculators, surveys, and event signups live inside the message. No account to create, nothing to retype.

What the student sees

Everything a student needs to act arrives inside the message thread.

A branded message carries the school's verified name, its own imagery and a button. The student reads it, decides and acts without leaving the messaging app.

  1. 1

Verified sender. The school's name and crest sit at the top of the thread in place of a phone number.

  2. 2

Full image card. The school's own imagery and colors, not a few lines of gray text.

  3. 3

Personal. The student's first name and a message written for where the student is in the process.

  4. 4

One tap. The button opens the next step inside the thread. No landing page, no login.

  5. 5

Two way. The line under the message tells the student that the school will see the actions they select.

From The State of Student Texting, 2026

What the 2026 field report measured.

265

completed applications from 2,429 contacts and one branded send at a private university in Texas.1

9times

About 9 times the response of the same words sent as a plain text, in a controlled test at one school: 4.60% versus 0.50%. One test, and the counts are small.2

90.1%

of undecided admitted students were still considering the school that admitted them: 654 of 726. Survey context, not a result of a branded send.3

From send to completed application: one branded message, 2,429 new inquiries. Percentages are shares of all messages sent. About 109 completed applications for every 1,000 students messaged.

Each dot is one student messaged, scaled to 1,000.

Sources: CS Enrollment campaign data (a private university in Texas), controlled message test (1,000 recipients per group, 3,000 total) and admitted student survey (2,781 responses, December 2024 to October 2026), as reported in The State of Student Texting, 2026.

Notes

Where these figures come from.

Nearly every message arrived: 2,371 of 2,429, or 97.6%. Of the messages delivered, 23.9% were tapped. Of the students who tapped, 67.5% started an application. Of the students who started, 69.4% finished.

The about 9 times figure compares three formats of the same words. A rich branded message completed at 4.60% (46 of 1,000). The same words under the verified name, without the image or the button, completed at 1.70% (17 of 1,000). The same words as a plain text completed at 0.50% (5 of 1,000).

The 90.1% figure describes admitted students who had not yet decided. It is not a result of a branded send. The survey ran from December 2024 to October 2026, and 2,781 students answered the decision question.

When a phone cannot display a branded message, it gets a standard text automatically.4

  1. The case school is Schreiner University. Inquiries came from a late summer junior search. The offer was a barrier free priority application in one branded message, and the button opened that application inside the thread. Rates on the page are shares of all 2,429 messages sent unless a sentence names another base. Tapped counts students who tapped the button. Started and completed are application events.
  2. CS Enrollment controlled message test. Same school, same audience and same sending window. 1,000 recipients per group, 3,000 total. Response rate is completed responses divided by recipients. One test at one school, and the counts are small.
  3. CS Enrollment admitted student survey, December 2024 to October 2026. 2,781 students answered the decision question. 654 of 726 who had not yet decided were still considering the school that admitted them.
